Pokemon - Lack of a mother's love

It was a beautiful day in Alola. The sun was setting on the mountains, ending another day. Lillie was sitting on the balcony, sadly. Why, you may ask? Well, a few days ago, her mother, Lusamine, left to go somewhere, and told she'll be back by the end of the day, but then, a few days have passed, and nothing of Lusamine. Lillie was missing her very much.

"Lillie?" she heard the soft tone of her brother. Lillie turned her head, and saw Gladion looking at her. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"I miss mom... It's been ten days since she left..." said Lillie. "And i'm worried about her..."

"Oh Lillie..." Gladion sits next to his sister.

"Gladion! I'm worried!" commented Lillie, tears began to roll down her face. "Mother's day is coming soon! And if she doesn't return by there, i won't have anyone to give my gift!"

"Sshhhh..." shushed Gladion as he wrapped an arm around Lillie. "It's okay Lillie... It'll be okay..."

Lillie was unable to respond as she sobbed on her brother's shoulder. She cried for about ten minutes, until she finally calms down, as Gladion runs a hand through her hair.

"It's okay Lillie..." said Gladion, wiping her tears away. "Lillie, look at me."

"*sniff* Hmm?" Lillie looked up at her big brother.

"Look. I miss mom just as much as you do, but i have to admit something." said Gladion. "Her problem will be hers if she doesn't want to come back. And also, even if she doesn't come back to our family, we have each other, and we also have dad."

Lillie solemnly nodded.

"And besides, she was the one who murdered your friend's sister, right?" asked Gladion.

"Yes. She killed Ash's older sister." replied Lillie.

"But Lillie. Even if she comes back, just remember we'll have each other's backs, and also, even if our mom gets arrested, we'll have dad to take care of us, okay?" assured Gladion.

"Okay big brother..." replied Lillie. Then, Gladion carefully puts Lillie's head on his chest.

"I guess it's been a while since you heard that sound coming from me..." whispered Gladion. Lillie heard a soft thumping coming from her brother's chest, and then memories flowed through her head.

When Lillie was a kid, whenever there's a storm or she had a nightmare, she would go to Gladion's room, and after a while, nothing will be scary for her anymore, because the sound of her big brother's heartbeat would soothe her and shoo away all of her fears. And Gladion was right. It's been a long time since she listened to that sound. And it feels like just yesterday when she listened to Gladion's heart beating for the first time. Lillie hugged his chest and let her last tears flow.

"There you go..." whispered Gladion, planting a soft kiss on the top of her head. After a while, Lillie falls asleep, as Gladion felt her grip on his jacket get loose.

"She fell asleep..." said Gladion. Then, he puts his sister in bridal style and takes her to her room. Then, he takes off her shoes and tucks her into bed. He then kisses her forehead.

"Get some rest sis. I'll come wake you up when dinner is ready." he whispered, before leaving the room.
