It was a normal day in Lumiose City. Clemont was at the city's local pharmacy, named 'First Aid Drugstore', buying some medicine.
"That would be 12 dollars, please." said the clerk.
"Okay. There you go." said Clemont, giving out 15 dollars.
The clerk got the money and gave 3 dollars.
"Here's the change." said the clerk.
"Thank you miss- Uh... Ma'am?" asked Clemont.
"Yes, sir?" asked the clerk.
"The 2 dollar bill is ripped in half." replied Clemont. There was a 2 dollar bill half on Clemont's hand.
The clerk gets the ripped half and gives him a whole bill.
"What a mistake of mine. Thank you so much." said the clerk. "Have a nice day."
"Thank you, ma'am." said Clemont, getting his bag of medicine before leaving. "Holy sparks! I got a ripped 2 dollar bill. Good thing I noticed it in time. Hehehe!"
He then heads back to his apartment.
